Feast your eyes on yet another Jeep model that will sale over 200,000 units annually in the US. It looks as if we will be getting those Alfas afterall. Huzzah!! So will it be called the Compass, the Patriot, the Apache, the Cheyenne, the Wematanye, the Bigot? Only time will tell. So exciting!!

Well...looking closely at the door, it appears to be wearing the Compass nameplate.
I like the way it looks, really. Has some nice styling cues inspired by other Jeeps, including the blacked out grille from come Renegade and Grand Cherokee models, the squared fender flares from the Cherokee and Renegade, the blacked-out roof of the Renegade Trailhawk, bumper styling similar to that of the Grand Cherokee, the rear side window shape inspired by the Renegade, and wheels that look similar to those on the Wrangler Rubicon.
The only thing is that the tail lights look rather...first generation Mazda CX-9 from that angle, and from a different angle, look like something off of a Kia.
One thing I really like is the chrome trim along the side windows that go further back, dividing the black roof from the white pillar, and then along the bottom of the rear window.
Some companies try chrome trim along windows and such and fail...but Jeep seems to actually have done it right on this new Compass.

Yeah, I zoomed in once it occurred to me it was written on the door like all the other Jeep models. I don’t like the blacked out A-Pillar with the brightwork at all and I’m meh to the style.
Honestly I was hoping it would tie in to the Cherokee more since now that model doesn’t look like anything else in the lineup and I’m really hoping that doesn’t mean the Wagoneer lineup is going to take on those cues. Right now we have Renegade which has Wrangler and Patriot cues, the Compass which has Grand Cherokee cues, and the Cherokee which doesn’t look like anything right now but a Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are coming and would have been designed at the same time the Cherokee was finishing up and being received extremely well by “young" consumers.

So long as the platform has nothing to do with the previous, which dated back to the Caliber, I don’t see an issue. People who live Jeeps gotta buy SOMETHING when they realize the Wrangler they came to buy stickers for over $40k.

I want the Comanche Eliminator back.

I think Jeepster would have been a good choice.

Wait, so this will be between the Renegade and the current Cherokee? The current compass is more of just a econo-4dr hatch - kind of bottom of market segment - but this might create a new segment between sub-compact and compact based CUVs? Weird...

I’m really liking that

I like it! It’s like a Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, and Renegade had a baby. And it can’t possibly be worse than the Compass/Liberty which already sell in outrageous numbers, so I’m expecting a sales success.
